  1. cool, blow me
i bet thats getting old, huh?

  2. when you gotta go, you`ve gotta go.

  3. Dun dun dun, dun dun.

  4. Great to see hear the Sega CD stuff again… and Rampage Edition! Why are there not more Rampage Editions of games nowadays… I was also into The Lost World on PS1, pretty decent instrumentals mimicking John Williams; sounding more like upbeat Indiana Jones themes than JP. Not surprised it wasn’t featured on the podcast, but check it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=neyTrD5w8WQ&feature=related Anyway, thanks for doing the show!

  5. Hold on to yours butts

  6. I always found Rampage Edition to be more fun than the regular version. Though like Grimm said, going back and playing things now is a lot different than playing them when you’re thirteen.

  7. I like that 9:45 into the podcast, one of the tracks from one of the JP games sounds like an 8-bit version of George Michael’s “I Want Your Sex”

    Great show as always. lol

  8. I did not remember how tolerable most of that music was. Please have Grimm on in every episode or at the very least every episode featuring the Genesis. Priceless.
You probably already figured out that Danny B. is the composer of the soundtrack for many games including Canabalt, The Binding of Isaac, and Super Meat Boy. He is really good.

  9. I remember how happy Brett was when Chris played that midi Jurassic Park theme on tdar

  10. Never played any of the Jurassic Park games, but heard about how good the music was. On the topic of terrible licensed games with awesome music, Ocean Software’s “Waterworld” for SNES had RIDICULOUSLY good music.

  11. Ahh Tdar memories are flooding in.

  12. No context for Main Theme -jp rampage edition, so it sounds like something from terminator. But it’s about jurassic park? Dinobonoids? http://mytvseriesapp.com/screenshot-78980-4130160-toys_will_be_toys.jpg

  13. I completely forgot about these games, the SNES version was the best IMO, even with the odd FPS indoor levels.

  14. awesome episode. had the snes version, and recently picked it back up. oh man, dat primitive first person.

  15. I really have to apologize Brett. When I first saw this I thought to myself that you had lost it, no way did Jurassic Park games have good music. Boy was I wrong. This was an awesome episode with great music. I will never doubt you again. As a side note, my shirt is on it’s way and I can’t wait.

  16. I feel I’ll explode if I don’t tell someone about this music, and I’d like some of you to try it out.
I find that the Mabinogi soundtrack to be strangely wonderful, the instruments are very odd but the music can be fantastic.
While parts of the soundtrack are available for download on iTunes, you can get it all by downloading the game and extracting the MP3 soundtrack that’s over 100 songs long.
The songs recommended would be Boss_Claimh_Solas Boss_Doppelganger and Believe Your Force, of course there are much more that can be found.
Thank you very much for reading this as you have at least been enlightened to one anonymous man’s tastes on obscure Korean MMO soundtracks.

  17. In response to Chris’ question, the instrument that was used in Beetlejuice is called a cuica. It’s a Brazillian percussion instrument used in sambas and other Latin musics.

  18. Now this was an unexpected treat. I never would have guessed that the Jurassic Park games had good music. I didn’t really pay any attention to the games. I remember the Genesis one getting a lot of praise at the time, but it sounds like the SNES one was the best (literally! It sounds the best!)

Interesting hidden gem you have shared with us! Thanks!

  19. A comment 3 years after the episode? Why not?

The Main Theme (JP Rampage Edition), sounds very similar to Shadowrun for the Genesis.

The composer for Shadowrun is also Sam Powell.
