  1. Finally! One of my favorite games!

  2. Oh my goodness! I have to play this game; the music is phenomenal! Question: Where the heck did the photo come from? I ask because it. is. amazing.

  3. Wow. It gets so much better at the end! This may be the best VGMpire ever. That closing track could totally be Kid Chameleon 2, if it weren’t for the fact that it actually belongs to an obscure pc beat-em-up!

Pure happiness at my desk right now.

  4. Damn it Brett, stop making me laugh like a maniac on my walk to work!

  6. Wow, this really IS obscure! I’ve never even heard about such a game before… Then again, it IS a PC game so I guess that explains a lot of it. Well, should be interesting!

    • …Brett, you bastard, also, how did I NOT see this coming? XD

Anyway, regardless of everything else… that music was still pretty good, is there any way we can listen to it?

    • Also, wouldn’t mind if we ever got the sequel “Boulevard of anger” 😉

  7. Avenue of Fury………..i see what you did there. well-played.

  8. Any idea on where we could grab the soundtrack? This was awesome.

  9. I really wish you would’ve at least mentioned the sequel, “Cul-de-sac of Discontent”. It was released as launch title for the Ouya. As weird as AOF was, CDSOD had it beat hands down. 3 of the 5 playable characters were animals(kangaroo, gorilla and camel) and the game started out underwater. Level 3-2 has you kicking ass in hell for no apparent reason whatsoever.

  10. Wow… 😀

  11. I actually found a genesis port of this at goodwill once. I’m pretty sure it was called Avenue of Fury: Right of Way

I still prefer Backroads of Displeasure though

  12. It says a lot about games at the time that you can say “this is where they go to space” and I’m thinking “…this could still be legit”.

  13. When I saw this was only 15 minutes, I was skeptical. But I still couldn’t see this coming. Well played Brettleson, well played.

  14. That was great, really glad neither Chris nor Henry were in on it 🙂

  15. Loved it!

  16. Almost had me Elston!

  17. Gat damnit. …I love you, Brett.

  18. Literally started to write this as I got the big reveal. Well played. Just one question: that music was good but you kinda nervously rushed through explaining where it comes from. Mod files? So… Are they from some sort of “deviant art” but for chiptune artists?

  19. Never heard of it but can’t wait to listen!

  20. Hey Brett did you ever get a chance to figure out what the tracks were for this episode? I love what I heard and would love to get some of the songs for myself.

  21. HAHAHA loved the plot twist of this episode. Good stuff.

Also Chris’ “I’d also like to plug a friend of mine’s book, Mein Kampf!” made me tear up from laughing so hard while I was driving to work.
