  1. What’s this?? A surprise fifth episode?!?!? You sir, have outdone yourself. Who would have thought you’d rise to Rocktober with a trick AND a treat!

  2. Yowza! Those first 2 sounded like a sexy mix of Phantasy Star 4 and Jewel Master – loved them. Nice episode.

Also very glad to hear that this is not the end of Vgmpire. Was nervous I was gonna hear a thank u and best wishes speech..

  3. YYYAAAAASSS another VGM!

Also… wtf this Stage 4 track in Alien 3 is… really good? It’s like a lost Phil Collins song (lost… Genesis song?)

  4. I agree with Utop. I too was only expecting 4 episodes for Rocktober so this is a quite a pleasant surprise! Thank you Brett.

  5. Brett, what a fantastic end to a fantastic Roctober. I should have waited to post Genesis OST suggestions until all episodes were posted; you waited until the last episode to post from two of my favorite Genesis composers!

Here’s a few more tracks from OSTs you may want to check out(if you haven’t already):

Hope you find something interesting here you haven’t heard before.

  6. I can’t believe I’ve only recently found this podcast. Popped up during one of my routine Google searches for “Plok soundtrack”, to see if anyone had anything new to say about it 😛

I’ve loved videogame music since I was a kid. I was one of those guys who would occasionally throw in a game, just to go to the sound test and go through the tunes. You guys know what you’re talking about, and you do a really good job here. I guess one of the benefits of turning up late is that I at least have a shitload of episodes to go through. 🙂

Keep up the good work. I would love to hear an episode that takes a closer look at the “Spiderman and the X-Men in Arcade’s Revenge” soundtrack. I know you touched on it in your Follin brothers episode, but it’s such a fantastic piece of work all round, and would be great to hear it fleshed out a little more. The SNES version. Doubt I had to mention that.

    Cheers guys.

  7. Great work this month guys!
I don’t want to start any negative garbage but I really hope you stick with just the three of you. Out of all the guest host combinations I personally find that you gel well together and stay on topic. I just binge-listened to your entire “Rocktober” podcasts and they are superb. Hopefully there will be more in the near future!

  8. Best Rocktober so far. Genesis/Mega Drive gets a bad rap for it’s sound, but that’s mostly from people that only heard the music from emulators/collections.
