  1. Yeaahhhhhh another VGM! THANKS AGAIN SO MUCH.

Btw the ending song on that last episode was really good! Up there with “Dawn of the Human Being” for best ending theme.

  2. I’m here for ya Brelston! From what I’m seeing, 大吟醸 (daiginjou) is a Japanese rice wine. The way a lot of the reviews online read, this game’s cover and title were stylized as “baka-game,” something that just kinda made you laugh when you saw and wanna try it out, but was developed as a solid sequel to Battle Mania.

  3. Love VGMpire and Rocktober!!!

You’re doing the lords work by curating SEGA’s music library here. I really enjoyed this episode. Especially the ‘Shrine’ Track. It sounded like music from Shadowgate with a ripping guitar.

  4. Elston, excellent choices! You might consider listening to some other VGM podcasts such as Pixelated Audio, VGM Jukebox, and VGMbassy……they’re all excellent at unearthing gems you’d enjoy, not only Genesis, but every other system as well.

As for Genesis/Mega Drive gems, have you heard these:

……and @brelston, there’s SOOO much more where that came from.

  5. “Blue Sky Laundry” is a great tune. I feel like it could’ve been as iconic as the Duck Tales moon stage theme if it had appeared in a game more people actually played.

  6. The upbeat action vibe of this soundtrack reminds me of the Rocket Knight and Sparkster soundtracks in a really good way, it’s all so catchy. Really glad to have this show because I would’ve never heard this stuff otherwise, can’t wait for the rest of Rocktober!

  7. Seeing more VGMpire just makes me shed tears of joy..
